All Gods Creatures Costume Parade

Iris' school had a Halloween party on Monday. Each child had to dress up as an animal. Iris is suppose to be a ladybug for Halloween but her ladybug wings did not arrive in the mail in time so I turned her into a kitty cat. Here she is playing in class. Once all the kids were dressed and ready we went outside for a "parade." It consisted of walking through the churchyard (aka graveyard), through the church offices, along Broad street, through the church and back to the classroom. Iris and Clara getting ready to start the parade.....
Thank goodness mom was there because Iris had a mind of her own and wanted to walk all over the place. It took both of us to control her. We were able to each hold one of her hands and eventually get her in line with the others...

Inaugural Camping Trip

We took our first family camping trip last weekend at Dreher Island State Park in Columbia. We only went for one night because we weren't sure how well it was going to go with Iris and we had not used our new camper yet---I use the word "new" loosely because although it is new to us it is a 1958 Vintage Avion that has been partially restored. Yes, Brad's latest and greatest project. Iris loved running around outside. She kept busy collecting pecans off the ground and trying to eat them...
She also sat in the dirt and would not put her hands down on the ground to stand up so she just kept spinning and spinning on the ground. I don't know if Shout will be enough to save these pants.
Here's a picture of our little camper. It's pretty cute. We'll have to get some cheesy string lights to put up on our next trip.

Pumpkin Decorating

Instead of dealing with the mess of carving a pumpkin this year I decided we should just decorate one. I bought a little container of face pieces--kind of like Mr. Potato Head--and let Iris decorate her own pumpkin.
After careful planning and strategic placement she created a beautiful pumpkin head... (Ok, she may have had a little help)

Playground

I took Iris to the new playground under the Ravenel Bridge in Mt. Pleasant. We met her friends Christian, Hank and Clara there as well. I took a few pictures before the playgroup showed up and then I got so distracted with everyone running around that I forgot to take some with the playgroup. Oh well, next time... Iris LOVES to swing. She says "Weeeoooo!"

Pumpkin Patch

Brad had Thursday afternoon off so we took Iris to the pumpkin patch in Mt. Pleasant. Iris did not like the hay very much but other than that we think she enoyed herself.

4 Year Anniversary!

Our 4 year wedding anniversary was October 1st. We didn't really plan ahead for babysitters etc so to celebrate, we decided to take Iris with us on a boat ride to California Dreaming for dinner.
I thought the evening couldn't be more perfect and then Brad surprised me with a new yacht! Here's a picture of it in the background. ------- JUST KIDDING!! Oh well, maybe for our 10th Wedding Anniversary we can get one of those. No, we'll be giving all of our money to some private school by then. Well, it was a perfect evening anyway and I look forward to may more perfect and wonderful years with my hubby!
