First Week of School

I realize these are way too many pictures for a Back To School post but I do not care, I'm going with it anyway.  Iris started school on Monday.  She is in Pre-K4. Here is she ready to go, just not fully awake yet....
I tried for a better one but got a weird look from her and then Isabella jumped in with her jammies still on...
Ok, another funny look, seriously, I think she is still sleeping! The cookie necklace is her little name tag for the first week of school. Mrs. McGreevy and Mrs. Merrick will be her new teachers.
Tuesday was Isabella's first day of school, Iris' second day.  Iris was getting the hang of waking up early and was more eager to participate in this mornings photo shoot.

Yes, both of these pix are the same. I just couldn't decide which smiles were cuter so I went with both!

Isabella loved carrying her new book bag.  It's full of important things like Pull-Ups and a change of clothes!

Both girls did great on their first day. Iris did not want to go but she was bouncing up and down when I picked her up and said she had lots of fun.  Isabella cried when I dropped her off but when I went to pick her up she would not go with me.  She told me she was "still playing."

Thursday was Isabella's second day of school.  Here she is in her cute chalkboard outfit.

You'd think by the fourth morning I would have it together, and I did.  We were dressed, teeth brushed, fed and buckled in the car by 8:15--perfect!  That is until I ran back upstairs to grab Isabella's milk and when I came back downstairs realized the car was locked---with my keys laying on the drivers seat and the kids buckled in the car.  NOT GOOD!!!  I did what any mother would do and I panicked, freaked out, and screamed.  Then I calmly picked up the phone and called my husband (who so conveniently insists on carrying my spare key on his key chain at all times.)  I knew he was in the O.R. but quite frankly I did not care. After a brief conversation with one of the O.R. nurses I spent the next 30 minutes yelling through the window trying to explain to a screaming and crying Iris how to unbuckle her seat belt. She eventually got the top of the buckle undone but she just could not get the one in the middle and could not get out of her seat to open the door.  Eventually a very nice man dressed in scrubs showed up in my driveway with the key.  The girls were hysterical but after some hugging and consoling they calmed down. I was ready to call it a day and go straight to Nana and Papa's because quite frankly, I needed a hug myself, but Iris said she wanted to go to school, so off to school we went.  Thank goodness it's the last day for the week.  I'll need the whole weekend to recover from this incident!
