Great Wolf Lodge

Brad had another one of his Lemons Race's at the Charlotte Speedway this weekend. I took the opportunity to declare it a "family weekend" and stay at the Great Wolf Lodge down the street with the girls. My parents were there as well. Dad spent his days at the track with Brad and mom and I had some fun with the girls. They loved their complimentary wolf ears...
The waterpark was packed and it was too crazy to take pictures in there. I took pictures of all the other fun things we did though. Iris loved the MagiQuest games. She didn't know how to actually play the game. She just loved that she could wave her wand and a treasure chest would open...
 look at all that treasure!

After MagiQuest we did some coloring in the KidsClub...

Iris participated in the afternoon dance lessons...

As if that was not enough we also had some fun in the arcade.

Being silly...

In the evening everyone gathers in the lobby for storytime. Here's Nana all cozied up with the girls. They each got to "Stuff an Animal" earlier that day. Isabella stuffed a cute little girl wolf named Violet...

and despite my persuasion, Iris chose a Raccoon?

We are HUGE fans of great Wolf Lodge and recommend it to anyone with small kids. We will definitely be back!

Fall Fun

Despite my promises I've gotten behind in my blog again. To catch up here's some pictures of what we've been up to so far this fall: Jump Day at James Island County Park...
I think Iris went down this slide 50 times....

After some sliding and jumping we sat down for a picnic with the Buxton's. I neglected to get a picture of my family but I did get a good picture of the Buxton's...
The weather has been so nice that we've been eating on the back porch a lot lately. During one of our lunches both girls refused to eat their meatballs. I tried putting them on a toothpick and discovered that the girls will eat just about anything if they can put it on a stick. They were even eating their peas and carrots with the toothpick--whatever works!

Iris and Clara started "Sports Camp." They were suppose to be on a micro-soccer team but somehow we ended up in "Sports Camp" and just decided to stay. They are learning how to kick, catch, throw and bat. So far there is A LOT of room for improvement. Camp is hard though, it's in the evening and it requires 100% parent participation which makes it very hard with Isabella running all over the place. I'm not sure if we are going to make it through the season.

Clara and Iris helping Isabella to the car...

and when we're not outside enjoying the perfect Fall weather, laundry baskets always make for some great indoor fun...
Happy Fall!

Isabella 17 months

Oops I did it again! Ok, forgot to take Isabella's 17 month picture with her sign again, sorry Boo! These pictures were taken VERY close to her 17 month birthday though so this is what we are going with. Isabella is developing a strong personality and is standing up for herself against Iris. That is good but it also means she now hits and pulls hair. She screams louder than any child I've ever known and when she does not get her way she throws things and/or throws herself down on the ground in a tantrum. Little does she know we've experienced those with Iris so they have little to no affect on us. Despite her new "self-expressions" she is very sweet and loving. She loves to be held and pushes on your nose and says, "beep, beep." She also loves to give kisses and hugs. Once we fix a few behavior issues she'll be the sweetest thing around!
Happy 17 Month birthday!

First Day of School-Isabella

Isabella would not exactly pose for a picture. This was the best I could get. Today was her first day of Todder Time. She is such a clingy little thing that I thought it dropping her off was going to be a nightmare. She just went straight to Mrs. Ellen. She whimpered for a second when she realized I was leaving but that was it.

Labor Day Weekend

We met the Shelton family in Tryon this weekend for Labor Day. We took the kids to Grandads Apple Farm to pick apples. John Howard catching a lift from his mom... The backpack put him at a great height to pick apples. Iris wasn't very particular about hers...
she was quite possessive of them though...
Now on to the green apples...
Isabella picked one red apple and would not let go of it, nor would she pick any others.
Family Portrait...
Still holding that apple...
Tried to pick the "best" picture of the 3 of them. That did not exist so I just went with the funniest. I love John Howard's face... Iris wouldn't cooperate for this picture either. I rarely get a picture with just my little Isaboo though...
Still holding that apple!
