Iris had a fit when Brad went on his ski trip this year. She cried and cried that he was not taking her with him skiing. She continued to pout about it for the next 5 days. Fortunately, we came up with our own form of "indoor skiing" and it seemed to brighten her mood. We used paper plates for the skis and a yard stick and Swiffer handle for the poles. She had a little trouble coordinating it all at first.

Isabella is 22 Months!
Happy 22 Month Birthday! Yeah--I remembered to take Isabella's monthly photo. Sorry Isabella! I will be making the months I skipped up to you forever!
Isabella is such a "big" girl these days. She weighs 22 lbs. I think that only puts her in about the 3rd-5th percentile but she doesn't seem to think she's a little girl. Her current favorite phrase is, "I do it myself!" She has EXCELLENT fine motor skills. She holds a pen correctly, puts her own shoes AND socks on each day. She can also disassemble and re-assemble anything in a matter of minutes. It's amazing to watch. Happy 22 month Birthday Boo!

Isabella poo pooed in the potty!
Yeah!!! Isabella went poo poo in the potty 2 days in a row! I took several pictures to commemorate the event but I thought this one was the most appropriate to post on the blog. She was so happy when we all clapped and gave her stickers.
We are not potty training. She just said "poo poo!" and ran to the bathroom both days. Of course she has never gone again. Just those two days and that was it. Oh well, I'm not really ready for potty training just yet. Maybe we'll start later this summer.

Iris' Valentine's Party
"Happy I love You Day" was busy. I dropped both girls off around 8:30. Then, I had to go back and pick up Isabella at 10:00 to make it to Iris' Valentines party at school. I knew we wouldn't be done in time for me to drive back downtown to pick up Isabella by 11:30. Isabella loves Iris class though so she was excited to go to her party. Here everyone is taking turns handing out their Valentines.
Then it was time for snacks. Notice Isabella right at home with the rest of the class. She just sat right down at the table and started eating. Luckily they had set a few extra places. She thinks she is such a big girl.
We continued the celebration that evening with dinner. I turned my traditional Halloween Cheeseburger Pie into individual miniature heart shaped pies.
Luckily, the girls loved them!
They loved dessert even more though. This was another Pinterest find.
The day was so busy and Brad did not make it home for dinner ( we eat early) so I waited until after baths to give them their Valentine gifts. That way Brad could see them. We decided not to give them in the morning or we would never make it out the door.
Yes, beanbags are on add Valentine gift but they were originally purchased for a "previous holiday." I decided they had enough gifts that "holiday" and put them up for a later date. They are not the easiest things to hide and store though so I went ahead and gave them to the girls. They dove right in...
Smacking on candy...
If you're wondering why Isabella is wearing a coat with her pajamas it's just her new thing. She wears a coat all day. Usually the hat is always on too. Some days when I pick her up from Toddler Time she is still wearing her coat. They can not get them off of her either. Iris was my shoe girl. Isabella is my coat girl.
Happy I Love You Day girls ! We Love you!
Happy Valentine's Day
As Iris would say, "Happy I Love You Day!" If anyone follows me on Pinterest you can tell I'm addicted. I just couldn't go with store bought valentines with some many cute ideas all over the internet. I picked out two and made some for the girls to take to school. Goldfish seem to be the official snack of Toddler Time so I thought these would be perfect for Isabella's class.
Iris helped me with the ones for her class. She glued the tags together. She started to help me shovel the M&M's into each bag but I had to fire her. Too many were disappearing.
A close up...
Here they are ready for school with their Valentine's outfits. They are doing so much better at staying still for pictures these days.
They wanted another one with their coats on...
I checked the mailbox on the way to school and we found some Valentines cards from their Granny and Nana. The cards kept them entertained the whole way to school. We we got there they were both covered in Elmo stickers.

Black Eye
Poor Isabella has been having a rough time lately. She's had one ear infection after another. To top things off she had a little mishap on our stairs and got this pretty shiner.
At first I didn't think it was too bad but then it started changing colors daily.
She didn't seem to care though...
just snacking, making messes and playing as usual.
