More Dress Up

Iris' cousins gave her some old dance recital costumes when we were in Indiana. She is putting them to good use. This is one of my favorite costumes. She calls it the "shaky shaky." Believe it or not, it's more hysterical when it's not worn over a Dora nightgown and she shows you why it's called the "shaky shaky."

Christmas Evening

Nope, Christmas is not over yet! That evening we went to Nana's to celebrate Christmas with Nana and Brad's sisters' family. I thought the girls would be tired but they were still full of energy... I think it has something to do with opening more presents.... and all the attention they get from their cousins... Taking a break with her mommy...
Iris and Iris. I love this picture! Merry Christmas!

Christmas Morning

Merry Christmas! Christmas morning was lots of fun. Iris was very into it this year and was so excited to see what Santa had left under the tree. Digging in.... The biggest hit of the morning was the cardboard playhouse...
Isabella kept opening and closing all the windows and yelling "peek-a-boo!." It was super cute.
She liked her alphabet train too...
"Choo Choo!"
Daddy trying to teach Iris how to "walk" her new toy puppy.
Isabella got a Raggedy Andy...
and Raggedy Ann doll.
Iris had to try on everything and changed multiple times. This is one of her new princess dresses with Bitty Baby and backpack. She's also wearing her new purple hair extension and I think there's a necklace in their somewhere. This girl LOVES dress up!
A mess...
Brad was a real trooper to let me take and post this SUPER CHEESY family photo. This was our first year with coordinating pajamas. It was a reindeer theme. I think I'm going to make it a family Christmas tradition. Brad's not a big fan ( I think it's because his pj's didn't perfectly coordinate with ours) but he is a good sport! Thanks honey!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is an eventful day in Indiana. Brad's parents host dinner at their house for the entire family. These days that can be anywhere from 25-30 people. That number is still growing! Here are some shots of the family gathering and present exchange...
Iris got a new Mermaid Dora doll...
Isabella did too but she wanted a photo by herself...
Two VERY happy girls with their daddy... They received more than enough attention all week. I wish their cousins lived closer. Here they are goofing around with Lauren, Molly and Uncle Scott. Isabella and Evelyn are just weeks apart. They were instant friends. Isabella was leaning in for a kiss...
This is their other cousin, Kaitlyn. These two look so much alike in this picture it's kind of freaky!

Christmas at Granny and Grandad's

The girls finally coopertaed for a photo together. Early morning, hair not brushed but at least they are both looking at the camera and smiling. They love this garden. Here they are "eating" their vegetables...
They played in this thing the whole week.
The piano and some dress up clothes their cousins brought over were a big hit as well.

Snacks at Nana's

Our drive to Indiana was surprisingly very easy. The girls were great the whole way. Here they are at Nana Iris' house having a snack... Iris discovered Cheetos. Something she has never had before and quickly picked every one out of the snack mix for herself.
I think Isabella ate during the whole visit...
A "cheesy" smile...

Christmas at Nana & Papa's

We celebrated Christmas with my family early since we were traveling to Indiana this year. Here's a few shots of the girls opening their presents at my parents. I'm re-doing Iris' bathroom and Nana bought her some cute accessories. Isabella quickly snuggled up with their new matching towels. I thought they'd quickly throw these aside but they seemed to love them. I'd never seen anyone so excited over an owl trash can!
Anything Dora is always a big hit...
Isabella liked the boxes more than anything...
Merry Christmas!

Iris' Class Christmas Party

Last, but not least, was Iris' class Christmas party. I was tired of Christmas party pictures so I only took a few. Just love the looks she gives me nowadays... Isabella got to join in on the party too. I think she had more fun than Iris! She thinks she is such a big girl going into Iris' classroom.

Gingerbread House Pajama Day

Iris' class had multiple Christmas festivities this year. This was Pajama Day with a Gingerbread House decorating party. Here's a picture of the whole class in their pj's...
Iris is not my arts and crafts girl. She prefers dress up over anything She is very "imaginative" but not "creative." She did participate in decorating a house though, just not enthusiastically...
I think she ate more candy than she put on her house too...
Here's our finished gingerbread house. More like a shabby shack but she was proud and it was a fun activity to do together. Even better since we didn't have to make one at home---so messy!

Iris' Christmas Program

Iris' Christmas program was adorable. She did a great job but started out quite shy... once the music started she got right into it...
Then we had treats afterwards. I was trying for a cute smile but she stuffed her mouth with a cookie first. Oh well!
Good Job Iris!!!
