Thanksgiving Art

Here's the girls Thanksgiving Artwork from school. The orange plate with the hand prints and the leaf above it were done by Isabella. The rest of the artwork was done by Iris.
I was SUPER excited when they each brought these Pinecone Hand Print Turkey's home from school! Believe it or not, Isabella's is the one on the left. I think the little ones at her school had more help than at Iris'. Her hand print feather is so small--too cute! I'm not sure I'll be able to throw these away!

A White Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving morning I was driving the girls to my parents for dinner and talking on the phone to my mother-in-law (via handsfree bluetooth, of course!). Iris and I have been working on being quiet and not talking while mommy is on the phone. She did a great job and did not make a peep while I was on the phone. However, when I got off she immediately started yelling, "Mommy, Isabella sprinkled, she sprinkled!" I kind of blew her off until I glanced in the rear view mirror. I was horrified by what I saw. I immediately pulled off the road and opened the back to discover this....
Isabella had a small bottle of baby powder in her hand earlier that morning. I was busy packing the food and the girls and trying to make it to dinner on time that I did not notice Isabella still had the bottle. Even if I did I probably would have let her keep it. It had never been opened and still had the wrapping and sticker on the top. I didn't think she would be able to get all that off. Boy was I wrong!
Good thing daddy was on call and didn't get to witness this. What a mess!
After some washing and shaking off I was still able to take a few Thanksgiving pictures...
As you can see a white powdery dress was the least of our problems. Isabella would not give up the Publix balloon and I just can't get these two to pose...
Oh well, Happy Thanksgiving!

Pre-Thanksgiving Photos

I bought the girls new Thanksgiving outfits this year but it's been really warm here. I couldn't send them to school in long sleeve shirts and pants. Instead I dug out last years dresses and turned them into tunic tops for the day. I think it looked pretty cute. Brad asked why I was letting them hold balls for their Thanksgiving picture. This is why... It was the only way to make them stand still at the same time.
Plus, with this 80 degree weather, beach balls were a good fit!

Post Halloween Pix

I had to share this photo I took of my nieces and nephew earlier in the week. They were on their way to a pre-Halloween event in Summerville when I happened to be in town. I just had to meet them and take a picture...too cute!
Iris brings home so much "artwork" and papers are piling up everywhere. I felt guilty for not displaying them so for now I have created our "Door of Art." These are the girls Halloween pieces... I was so happy when Iris came home with a footprint bat to match Isabella's handprint bat---so sweet! Shopping at Target for post halloween deals. I didn't but this ice cream cone costume but I couldn't resist trying it on Isabella in the store... And last but not least my 2nd annual Pumpkin Cheeseburger Pie. Halloween was so busy this year that I didn't even have a chance to make this until the day after Halloween! Oh well, it was a nice way to say goodbye to October.
Yummy!
