The family took their first boating trip with Iris on Saturday. We hid Iris under the shade while mommy and daddy got the boat ready (not easy with a baby.)
Then, off we go! Iris didn't cry but she also didn't move a muscle when we put her in her vest. She kind of froze and just stared at everything as we started off down Penny Creek. I'm not sure if she was scared or just couldn't move due to the vest.
We rode for a bit and then stopped at a sand bar to play, slather on more sunscreen....
and of course, eat more sand.
Iris seemed to enjoy herself and apparently was wiped out. She fell asleep in my lap on the way home. She would have slept all the way to her crib if daddy had been more careful driving the golf cart and not thrown mommy and the baby into the marsh. Fortunately mommy was quick and jumped so we landed standing up instead of face down in
pluff mud. Daddy's version is different but he does not know how to post on this blog so we're sticking with mine!
